《中华戏曲》编辑部由中国戏曲学会、山西师范大学戏曲文物研究所专业人员组成，主旨研究当代戏曲现状，促进戏曲发展与繁荣。山西师范大学戏曲文物研究所的主要特色是一直坚持田野调查，善于把文物资料、民俗资料与文献资料三者结合起来一并研究，形成了科研、教学、文物展馆和大型学术辑刊四位一体的学科机制，取得了显著成就。
